4026 Debrecen, Baltazár Dezső square 1.
Open: Oct. 11. – Nov. 3. Tue-Sun 10:00-18:00

Opening: 11th October (Friday) 18:00

This year’s Design Week features an additional venue in Debrecen besides the opening exhibition at the Design Terminal. The show in MODEM Debrecen investigates the boundaries of the body, nature and life. Whether it’s the future of food, the tools of medicine or ecological systems, designers play key roles along biotechnology and research laboratories in shaping and presenting innovation. This blurring of the boundaries between organic and designed worlds creates new, expanded roles for designers.

What makes artificial meat appetising? What sort of ethical and aesthetical questions come from the designed afterlives of bodies? What is the meaning of organic form today and what are its technologies?

The exhibition features one-off objects as well as consumer products, presenting multiple perspectives on the discourse between designers and key dilemmas of nature today.
