The 7th Global Sustainability Fashion Week (#GSFW) will appear at Budapest Design Week with a 3-day programme based on the concept of SynArFash, synergy between architecture/art and fashion. Their motto this year joins also the New European Bauhaus initiative: “Feeling good in my clothing and the space around me”
The programme includes:
1.2. SynArFash workshop, hands-on session, presentation
During the morning programme to be held at Óbuda University on 13 October, students and visitors will meet Serbian designer and university lecturer Ana Vasiljevic, who lives in Barcelona, where her work is strongly influenced by Gaudí’s architecture. Her workshop is entitled “Gaudí’s influence on contemporary art and fashion”.
The afternoon programme will also feature an interesting presentation by award-winning architecture studio Hello Wood in their Hello Wood x MaxCity showroom, where you can see and try out their wooden cabin:

3.SynArFash international conference
At the conference on 14 October, national and international speakers will present their own practices and common ground they share on this topic. Many sustainable and natural materials, such as wool, wood or hemp, are used not only in the textile and fashion industry, but also in architecture. The reuse, renovation or even repurposing of old buildings for new functions is comparable also to the recycling and sustainability efforts in the fashion industry. Ecodesign is gaining ground in both these sectors and new, innovative, intelligent solutions to reduce energy and carbon footprints are becoming increasingly important.
4.Eco fashion performance and exhibition
The programme to be held on 15 October at Kiscelli Museum offers a special designer presentation set at a stunning venue. In the church space, dancers will present costumes inspired by architecture and art, brought to the show by well-known foreign designers who have dressed famous Hollywood stars or even Lady Gaga. In an inspiring setting, visitors can also admire the creations of the designers of Design Without Borders. And in the Sculpture Hall, you can see the clothes and collections of #GSFW’s flagship designers and meet the designers in person in this hall.
