Viewing the world from the perspective of food reveals the importance of this medium in
shaping our environment. The events of the last few years have drawn even more attention
to the weaknesses of the food system, the interdependence caused by globalisation and the
negative impact of humanity on biodiversity. This vulnerability highlights the need to think
differently about food in the future. From an ecological perspective, most of the challenges
that humanity is facing today stem from its loss of connection with food and the resulting lack
of appreciation for it. How can we rediscover the true value of food? How do human food
culture and habits affect climate change? And, how do these changes affect humanity's
relationship with eating?
At the event by Dóra Chován Food Experience Design x Babka Budapest, the
relationship between design and food will provide guests with a multi-sensory dining
experience, where they can experience and taste different social, ethical and environmental
issues. In our changed world, opportunities to share meals have become even more
important. Around the table, an atmosphere can be created where interactions may lead to
real connections for a better future.
