2025.10.09.

The 360 Design Budapest exhibition, showcasing the best of Hungarian and regional contemporary object culture, has launched and is open to visitors until 19 October. The exhibition, which has already won two Red Dot awards, presents nearly 400 works by around 100 Hungarian and regional designers and creative manufacturers in the historic heart of Hungary and the capital, in the Buda Castle district, in an exciting dialogue between past and present. The exhibition is also open to those who cannot visit the Baroque palace in Táncsics Mihály Street, where the exhibition is held. On the event’s online website, anyone can take a virtual tour of the exhibition space, which covers more than 1,000 square metres.

In 2020, he launched the 360 Design Budapest exhibition, which has become one of the defining events of the Hungarian and regional design scene. Over the past five years, more than 150 domestic and over half a hundred international designers have presented their latest work at least once. Thanks to cross-border cooperation, exhibitors from almost every country in the region have been invited, giving visitors who return year after year a comprehensive overview of the current trends in contemporary design in Central and Eastern Europe. The growing interest in the event is demonstrated by the fact that more than 14,000 people have visited 360 Design Budapest events so far.

This year, as the flagship exhibition of Budapest Design Week, the exhibition will showcase the works of more than 70 designers from Hungary and more than ten from the region, including Slovak, Czech, Slovenian, Ukrainian, Romanian and Armenian designers. The exhibition will also feature the work of ten Hungarian designers, further enriching the diversity of the show. Every year, the organisers of 360 Design Budapest pay particular attention to providing a showcase for emerging Hungarian talent. In 2025, more than thirty young designers will make their debut at the exhibition.

This year again, national designers will be presenting in three main categories. In the fine and applied arts block, there are limited edition works of artistic value that enrich our visual culture as works of art. The category of products suitable for mass production includes pieces created in collaboration with design manufacturers, including brands that collaborate with several designers to create their product range. The category of prototypes and digital designs and installations includes works that are still in the development phase, or that exist in digital (3D) form, or that can be viewed as installations specifically made for the exhibition space.

However, the experience of the exhibition is not only available in the Baroque palace located at 1 Táncsics Mihály Street in the Buda Castle District, but visitors can also take a virtual tour of the more than 1,000 square metre exhibition space from the comfort of their own homes to discover the outstanding works of contemporary design. In fact, by clicking on the information panels next to the objects on the 3D interface, visitors can access the exhibitors’ subpage, where they can find more interesting facts and detailed information about the designers and manufacturers.
