Design Everywhere – BDW Programs Across the Country

Budapest Design Week offers more than just a glimpse into the design world in the capital: this year, 9 cities across Hungary are joining the program series with nearly 50 events. From Debrecen to Sopron, from Pécs to Veszprém, visitors are invited to discover the Local+ events nationwide.

Design knows no boundaries – and this is proven by the regional programs that form an integral part of Budapest Design Week this year. Cities such as Debrecen, Győr, Kecskemét, Pécs, Sopron, Szentendre, Székesfehérvár, Tata, and Veszprém are all contributing to the festival. Each Local+ program offers something different, but they all share the same goal: to showcase that creative energy is alive not only in the capital but throughout the entire country.

There will be exhibitions, workshops, open studios, city walks, and discussions – involving local designers, institutions, and communities. Design Pécs will welcome visitors for the 11th time, while Sopron celebrates the 10th anniversary of its own Design Week. Debrecen once again presents a dedicated program series, and Veszprém offers inspiring experiences as the creative hub of its region.

What makes the regional events unique is how they connect local stories, traditions, and communities with contemporary design, allowing each city to showcase a different face of the creative scene.
