Gathering the Bones | Exhibition | Júlia EGERVÁRI
The exhibition centers on an archetypal female figure who, across many traditions, collects, guards, and arranges — sometimes bones — transmitting forgotten knowledge and posing challenges. It draws from collective imagery: the retrieval of lost wisdom, our bodily and natural connections, and the ritualistic, regenerative gestures found in creation. The artist employs mixed media — photography, textile, paper, installation, and video — juxtaposing natural and artificial materials in harmony or tension. The recurring bone motif appears in distorted, fragmented forms, evoking the unreliability of memory and the uncertainty of reconstruction. Gathering here is an open question rather than a closed act: what do we seek when piecing together what is lost? What do we find and create in the process? The opening performance explores to see if we find answers.
