At CODE’s multi-day side event, the heritage of the Bauhaus engages in dialogue with contemporary design innovation. The venue is a Bauhaus villa on Budapest’s iconic Napraforgó Street, one of Europe’s hidden modernist treasures, transformed into a living composition of light, space, and material. The carefully curated capsule exhibition features Bauhaus furniture, Dedar textiles, including pieces by Annie Albers, the exclusive Thonet × Jil Sander collection, EJTECH’s interactive installation, contemporary works from Acb Gallery, Márti Náfrádi’s fashion capsule, and special loaned pieces from the Hungarian Museum of Applied Arts. The dialogue between past and present is deepened by the artistic vision of RAPA Architects, responsible for the villa’s renovation. The event focuses on the relationship between material and technology, material as an expressive tool, and the connective role of design, fostering inspiring dialogue across architecture, art, craftsmanship, and innovation.
