Two creative teams, B-my Wood (The Masters of Thoughtful Spaces) and Andiamo Design, join forces to invite visitors to an exciting, hands-on experience: crafting a secret cabinet that can conceal not only objects but also ideas. In the first part of the workshop, participants assemble the cabinet body by hand: sawing, screwing, and glueing, while gaining a behind-the-scenes look at modern furniture-making processes. In the second part, participants can experiment with special surface treatment techniques: oxidised, rust-effect, and textured finishes are created, giving the wood a contemporary, industrial character. The result is a unique, characterful piece of furniture that each participant can take home. This workshop is not just about making an object, but about experiencing the entire creative process from raw material to finished piece – revealing that the cabinet, like the craft itself, holds more than meets the eye.
About the Organiser:
The company has been operating since 1994, and since 1997 it has maintained a presence at a prominent location in Pécs, on Siklósi Street. Over the years, alongside the car repair shop and gas station, a restaurant and rental units have been added, including a carpentry workshop, an architecture office, and a law firm. The focus of the developments gradually shifted towards Italy and the world of the arts, culminating in the creation of the Salone Medici event space. The Salone Medici, opened as a private dining area of the Ciao Ristorante on the site, has become an Italian-inspired gastronomic and cultural venue. The set-like façade, landscaped garden, and Florence-inspired interior all contribute to making the site more than just a simple service centre: it has been transformed into a true cultural space, with the Salone Medici at its heart. Several specialised fields have also been involved in the realisation of the programmes, including those that contributed to the design of the event hall.
