For the first time, visitors to Budapest Design Week will be able to view a collection of objects linked to Marcel Breuer, acquired this year by the Museum of Architecture. The pieces, which once occupied Breuer’s New York office and his holiday home on Cape Cod, are now being presented to the Hungarian public for the very first time. Further details about the programme are available on the villa’s official website and social media channels.
About the Organiser:
The Walter Rózsi Villa, designed by József Fischer and Eszter Pécsi, is a unique example of modernist architecture in Budapest. It is the only modern villa in Pest open to the public, and since 2022 has served as the first permanent exhibition venue of the Hungarian Museum of Architecture and the Monument Protection Documentation Centre. Its current exhibition, Kaesz Homes 1925–1960, revisits a pivotal era in Hungarian applied arts and furniture design, presenting a rich collection of objects and visual heritage. The exhibition was realised in collaboration with the Museum of Applied Arts.
