Behind the Scenes – Open Day at AMMA

Location:

Budapest, AMMA Stúdió – 1085 Budapest, Mária utca 36.

Dates

2025.10.11 12:00 - 17:00

AMMA is a community ceramics studio in the heart of Budapest where several independent artists work together. During their open day, visitors can gain insight into the life of the studio: they can learn about the processes of ceramic making, converse with the artists, and see works in progress or completed pieces firsthand. The event aims to bring creators and users of objects closer together and provide transparency about the studio’s community-based operations. The programme is recommended for anyone interested in the daily life of freelance ceramicists, the model of collaborative creation, or simply curious about who stands behind each ceramic piece.
The open day will take place on Saturday, 11 October 2025, from 12.00 PM to 5.00 PM at AMMA Studio (1085 Budapest, Mária utca 36). Current members of the community: Andrea Szuromi, Dorottya Esze, and Eszter Tábi, though membership is continually expanding.

About the Organiser:
AMMA Studio is a community ceramics workshop in downtown Budapest, offering a creative home for both professional and beginner ceramicists, as well as anyone with an interest in creation. The studio’s mission is to provide an accessible, well-equipped, and inspiring environment that fosters both professional growth and communal creativity. They place great importance on supporting enthusiastic beginners alongside experienced artists. Through their courses, participants can acquire knowledge that would otherwise require years of practice. The spaces at AMMA are designed to ensure that anyone interested in ceramics can find their place. The team has been working together in a community model for years – learning, inspiring, and supporting one another, while also building lifelong friendships.
