Coffewear Wallet-Making Workshop

The Coffewear workshop is built on one of the core principles of design thinking: every used material holds the potential for a new beginning. Participants will create their own unique wallets, hand-stitched and decorated with visual elements, using recycled coffee packaging and other industrial waste materials. The aim is not only to craft an object but also to showcase a sustainable lifestyle in which style, consciousness, and community-building are mutually reinforcing. The raw materials used by the brand come from Budapest cafés and bistros, meaning that participants will be creating an item intrinsically linked to the rhythm of the city.

About the Organiser:
Coffewear is a Budapest-based slow fashion accessories brand that has been working at the intersection of sustainability and design since 2017. Its speciality lies in creating bags, wallets and accessories from recycled materials – primarily coffee packaging – which are practical, stylish and environmentally conscious. Inspired by the “urban nomad” lifestyle, the collections are designed for a young, urban audience: easy to carry, versatile, and infused with Budapest’s creative, youthful energy.
But Coffewear is more than just a brand: it is also a community initiative. Regular workshops invite participants to discover the creative side of upcycling by crafting their own wallets, bags and accessories from coffee packaging. These occasions not only result in tangible, personal objects but also offer opportunities for shared creation, the exchange of inspiration and the hands-on practice of a sustainable mindset.
As part of Budapest Design Week, Coffewear will present both the brand concept and an interactive workshop, offering visitors an insight into how everyday, discarded materials can be transformed into fresh, much-loved design products.
