The exhibition and multidisciplinary event series, with a history of 21 years, features works from nearly 180 creators from more than 15 countries. The 2025 edition focuses on Dutch and Polish design, highlights the history and impact of bent furniture, unique textile works created at the intersection of design and contemporary music, and an international selection of contemporary design and jewellery. This year, student and alumni works are also featured in a dedicated section. The name “Design Without Borders” emphasises the project’s international character, European cohesion, and regional dialogue. Special attention is given to the permeability between artistic disciplines and themes, and to intergenerational dialogue. The organisers aim to broaden the concept of design, placing creative thinking and innovation at the centre. The exhibition will be held in the Church Hall of the Kiscelli Museum from 18 October to 16 November 2025, with a professional day on 18 October between 11.00 AM and 2.00 PM, and a guided tour on 19 October at 4.00 PM.
About the Organiser:
The exhibition is curated by Tamás Radnóti, interior designer, and Szilvia Szigeti, Ferenczy Noémi Prize-winning textile designer. Both graduated from the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design and studied as scholarship holders at the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart. Their design work has been presented in numerous domestic and international exhibitions, receiving multiple professional awards, including the Hungarian Design Award, the Design Management Award, and the Ferenczy Noémi Prize. In 1994, they jointly founded Unikát Multidisciplinary Studio Ltd. and the Eventuell Gallery. Since 2004, they have organised madeinhungary focusing on Hungarian designers, from 2012 the MeeD series showcasing international creators, and since 2014 the Design Without Borders exhibition and event series. Over the years, they have collaborated with nearly four thousand artists.
