Hollóháza Porcelain – Design First, Coffee Second – pop-up

Location:

Budapest, Hollóházi Porcelán Márkabolt – 1055 Budapest, Falk Miksa utca 7.

Dates

2025.10.10 10:00 - 14:00

During Design Week, on 10 October, the Hollóháza Porcelain store in Budapest transforms into a temporary café space, where the object dictates the experience, not the other way around. In the Design First, Coffee Second programme, visitors first choose and purchase a limited-edition porcelain cup, which then grants them access to the coffee experience: a cup of carefully selected specialty coffee awaits. The cup is not merely an object, but an entry into the moment – the meeting of porcelain form and aromatic coffee invites a slower, more mindful experience. “Fluid Boundaries” takes on literal meaning here: material and experience, design and function, human and object connect over a cup of coffee.

About the Organiser:
Hollóháza Porcelain is Hungary’s oldest operating porcelain factory, producing porcelain objects since 1777 in Hollóháza at the foot of the Zemplén Mountains. Over nearly 250 years, the brand has become a key player in Hungarian craftsmanship and applied arts, while always adapting to the aesthetics and societal expectations of changing times. Its core values remain handcrafting, high-quality materials, and commitment to design. Alongside classical style elements, contemporary sensibilities have become increasingly emphasised: reimagined forms, collaborations, limited editions, and urban presence characterise today’s Hollóháza Porcelain. The brand now offers not only decorative objects but also active, everyday design that evokes the past while representing contemporary Hungarian design culture.
