Authentic Dressing Calendar Showcase x Mittersisters Bag-Making Workshop

Location:

Budapest, 1074 Budapest, Dob utca 34-36.

Dates

2025.10.14 17:00 - 20:00

The Authentic Dressing Calendar is an arts-based, community-building project by Eszter Mengyán, a conscious dressing mentor, coach, and consultant specialising in colour, body type, and style. The wall calendar reflects on identity, body image, and self-awareness through the layers of dressing. Twelve Hungarian illustrators created one artwork each for the calendar, accompanied by short, thought-provoking texts. During the presentation, these illustrations will also be displayed in large format, alongside 12 unique leather bags created by the Hungarian brand Mittersisters, inspired by the illustrations. The bags will be available for auction, with 100% of the proceeds going to the foundation specified during the event. Visitors can not only browse through the calendar but also take part in a bag-making workshop. The project aims to encourage a new way of thinking about clothing. The calendar launch event is open to all, but separate registration is required for the bag-making workshop.

About the organiser:
Eszter Mengyán launched the Holy Duck! blog and social media channels in 2016, sharing her own journey towards more sustainable and conscious dressing with her audience. In 2021, her book Hello, Slow Fashion! – A Step-by-Step Guide to a Sustainable Wardrobe was published, compiling five years of her experience. After experiencing professional burnout following the book’s publication and undergoing personal life changes, self-awareness came to the forefront for her, influencing her professional life as well. In recent years, she has been primarily interested in fashion psychology and the relationship between clothing and the psyche. Currently, she works as a colour, body shape, and style consultant, and since 2024, she has also been supporting clients as a coach and conscious dressing mentor. The creation of the Authentic Dressing Calendar was inspired not only by her own experiences but also by those who, over the past few years, placed their trust in her and wanted to dress for themselves once again.
