Play/space and sensitive encounters in the Estorio showroom
In the Estorio showroom, which opened in 2022 in the neighbourhood of the Opera House,
curator este'r partners and lead designer Eszter Radnóczy aimed to engage Europe's
leading design brands in new encounters and unprecedented "chemistry". The space has a
special dynamic, given that one of Budapest's beautiful, bourgeois style apartments been
transformed into a popular meeting point for the city, a space for professional exchange and
shared thinking, on the one hand, and the premium brands featured here can also enter into
new and diverse kinds of connections, limited only by the creativity of the designers, on the
other hand.

At this year's Budapest Design Week, este'r partners is welcoming visitors to its open
showroom. The focus of the day will be on the intersection and coexistence of graphic
design and interior design, focusing on a symbolic design element and a premium global
brand: the Italian Valcucine kitchen.
Valcucine uses the same wood inlay technique that has enabled mankind to create true
masterpieces rich in detail and admirable craftsmanship over the centuries. The technique
has been reinvented using modern materials such as glass and coloured foil. Called Arte
Vitrum, the technique is still as traditional as ever, using traditional technology and entirely
carried out by hand, which makes each piece unique.
Estorio is launching a competition for graphic design students in higher education to design
a unique Valcucine front that can be adapted to the Arte Vitrum technique.
BDW will showcase the technique, offering the most successful entrants the opportunity to
present their entries, after which the winning entry will be announced over an offering of
Italian snack, and the design brands on show in the showroom will be presented.
