HIGHLIGHTS: Exhibition of Mome BA Graphic Design and Illustration Students

Exploring unknown territories and crossing boundaries can bring great joy to creators during the creative process. The BA programme in Graphic Design and the Illustration specialisation at MOME emphasises a diverse, progressive, and boundary-pushing creative attitude. This pop-up exhibition during Design Week presents a snapshot of this ever-changing, exciting process, which also extends across related disciplines. The exhibition showcases selected works from past years’ BA students, demonstrating how young graphic designers and illustrators apply classical graphic design, typographic, and illustrative techniques alongside sound, motion graphics, microanimation, or dynamic, programmed interfaces.

About the Organiser:
The Graphic Design BA programme at MOME has been a prominent institution in Hungarian university-level graphic design education for over fifty years. BA students possess competitive and up-to-date skills both nationally and internationally, enabling them to apply the possibilities and tools of visual communication effectively in practice. The three-year programme covers manual, analogue, and digital still and moving image production. The aim and purpose of the BA programme is to train graphic and illustration designers who are visually and culturally versatile and knowledgeable. These skills enable them to represent intellectual and conceptual content visually, while also fostering a sense of responsibility for promoting and elevating the general standard of visual culture. The practical aim of the programme is for students to creatively compose every phase of a graphic or illustration project – from concept to finished work – including image, typography, sound, and motion, while mastering the technical execution to a reproducible, high-quality standard.
